Ugh...one word for this: gross. This fruit is infamous across all of Southeast Asia for not just its appearance, but its awful smell. There's a reason they aren't allowed on public transportation...

People have been trying to unsuccessfully describe the taste of durian for thousands of years, and after eating just a bite before throwing it away, I don't blame them.

It's a mix of sweet, savory, and creamy all in one bite, but those feelings come with a downright awful taste (in my opinion).

July is durian season in Singapore, so it was a must-try food while I was in the country, but it is also sold in other forms such as a durian McFlurry (what are you doing McDonalds) or durian tarts. Maybe I should have started by trying the tarts but I guess it's too late now!

Eat at your own risk, I guess! :)
