Vietnamese EGG COFFEE - can't even control my excitement on this one! I was a little hesitant to try this at first - never did I think that mixing egg with coffee in any form would be even the slightest bit tasty. Once again, I was proved wrong.

Egg coffee is a Vietnamese staple, sold in almost every coffee shop since the 1950s. In a small cafe tucked into the side of a street, I found it being sold for 25K dong (literally USD $1)!

The drink is made using the following ingredients: egg yolk, sugar, condensed milk, and coffee. First, the yolks are whipped with the milk and sugar. After the mixture is boiled, coffee is poured into it. This forms the foam that can be seen above the coffee.

Typically the drink is served with a teaspoon so that the cream can be eaten off the top before drinking the coffee. Additionally, the cup is put in a bowl of hot water to keep the drink warm.

I would drink this coffee everyday if I could - it's that good! Despite the Vietnamese heat and humidity, this is a must-have drink if you're there (you can get it in iced form as well)!
