Kaya toast is a classic Singaporean snack, known as the national breakfast dish of the country. One of the most popular places to eat kaya toast is Ya Kun Kaya Toast, a chain that was founded in 1944. The shop offers various sets of toast, eggs, and coffee. When I visited one of their locations, I ordered Set A - kaya toast, soft-boiled eggs, and kopi.
Kaya is a traditional jam made out of coconut and eggs and is extremely sweet and creamy. It is typically spread across brown, crust-less bread, with a slab of butter inserted in between the two pieces of bread, as shown below. The toast is very tasty, but after eating around half of the quantity that was served, I was maxed out on the amount of sugar my stomach could handle.

The dish comes with two soft-boiled eggs with runny yolk, and the savoury taste is a good compliment to the sweetness of the kaya.
Kopi is another word for strong coffee, and I enjoyed washing down the meal with the tasty drink.
This is the most classic way that kaya is served, but the coconut butter also comes on crackers, in a jar by itself, with cheese or peanut butter, and on steamed bread. For someone who has a sweet tooth, I would highly recommend this breakfast dish!
