Hawker centres are a common sight in Singapore, offering cheap, delicious food for locals and tourists alike. However, one dish that is hard to come by is Thunder Tea Rice, served only at a select few places. Today, I went to the Suntec City Mall downtown and ended up trying this dish at the recommendation of a friend. It is perfect for the vegetarians out there!

Pictured on the left is the rice bowl, made out of brown rice, cabbage, basil, beans, and tofu, all topped with a spoon of peanuts and sesame. The tea soup is made out of mainly mint and basil, and can be mixed into the rice or drank separately.
Lastly, the Sambal Sauce is a little addition that I believe truly sealed the deal on this dish. Made out of chili, spices, and herbs, the sauce provided a burst of flavor to the rice. Highly recommend ensuring that you enjoy this dish with the sauce.
For someone who is looking for a healthy but filling meal, I highly recommend this dish and would definitely eat it again.
